Leslie Controls recently received an inquiry from a customer contact at Nuon, a Dutch energy company, who voiced concern about a leaking control valve supplied by a third party.
Working together to assess the impact of the leak, Nuon authorized Leslie to conduct an audit. This audit, actually an energy loss survey, was conducted by Leslie personnel to substantiate the concern by quantifying the economic impact of the 1.2kg/sec steam leak at Nuon’s Velzen power station.
Leslie was then given approval to remedy the problem, and after removing the existing boiler feed water pump recirculation valve and modifying piping, a new Leslie Aeroflow valve was installed. The zero leak performance of the Leslie Aeroflow valve has now saved the customer tens of thousands of dollars of lost steam. Problem solved.
